CCEA- Rollout Activities for the Year 2007 – 2008
September 2007
Identification of the Office Accommodation in Lucknow and recruitment of the Office Staff for managing the Secretariat.
Meeting all the concerned officials of the Government of Uttar Pradesh in the Ministry of Power, Ministry of Consumer Affairs and other Ministries who would directly or indirectly support efficient functioning of CCEA in the State of UP.
Organising meetings with all the Discoms, Power Generators and other Associations and Industries connected with the Energy Sector in UP.
Organising a Consultation with the Consumer Organisations and other key stakeholders to decide on the implementation plan for the year 2007-2008.
October 2007
Communication with the Heads of the organisations dealing in the Energy Sector in the 10 identified cities of UP.
Visiting the 10 Cities to hold one to one discussion and preparation of the report on the existing Complaint Redressal Mechanism in the Electricity Sector.
November 2007
Contacting Schools and Colleges in the 10 identified cities to build awareness on Energy Saving devices and building an attitude within the youth to participate actively in promoting conservation of energy and reduction of electricity theft in their respective cities.
Launching of the Website and the phone-in number on 14th November on the occasion of the Children’s Day and also creating a mega event by involving the schools and colleges in the 10 cities of the UP.
Launching Training Programmes with the Discoms and Consumer Organisations on Customer Care and attitudinal change within the service providers towards the consumers. Also initiating certain changes within the service providers on the existing systems on complaint redressal mechanisms.
December 2007
Organising the FIRST meeting of the Advisory Committee.
Preparation of various reports on the activities done for the first Quarter and organizing an event with the consumer organisations and all other stake holders on 24th December 2007 on the occasion of the National Consumer Day.
January & February 2008
Organising Training Programmes for the Discoms and other service providers, which would be carried on for three months by involving all the stakeholders
March 2008
Visiting the 10 cities and documenting the change in the attitude and the facilities by the Discoms towards the Consumer based on the various activities conducted since September
2007.
April 2008
Second meeting of the Advisory Committee and organizing a Workshop with all the media representatives in showcasing the achievements made by CCEA and also presentations by various service providers about the initiatives taken in strengthening the reforms in the Power
sector in UP.
May & June 2008
Organising Consultations and events in the 10 cities involving all the stakeholders based on feed back from the consumers and the service providers on the existing activities and the changes incorporated in the last 6 months.
July 2008
Organising a State level conference inviting all the stakeholders to be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of UP and other dignitaries of the Government of UP.
August 2008
Third meeting of the Advisory Committee to review all the activities.
Presentation of the one year achievements to the Media and also finalizing the roll out programme for the 2nd year based on the experience of the first year.
