CCEA - Energising & Empowering Consumer, Regulating Discoms            Our Objectives
Cell for Consumer Education and Advocacy, incorporated in July 2007 by Mr. Bejon Misra, Executive Director, Voluntary organization In Interest of Consumer Education (VOICE), for promoting and protecting the interests of the Consumers in all the matters relating to power sector. This cell has come into existence with the support of UTTAR PRADESH ELECTRICITY REGULATORY COMMISSION (UPERC) and will work on consumer issues relating to electricity generation, transmission, distribution, quality of service, tariff, grievances and redressal of consumer complaints.
www.bijlidost.org, the electronic face of CCEA and the first online platform for all the electricity related issues faced by a consumer in the power sector, is being set up in Uttar Pradesh with objectives to empower Consumers to participate effectively and efficiently before the UPERC on the various regulatory processes in the interest of the consumer. CCEA will also act as a clearing house of information to consumers on electricity. Besides this the other activities undertaken by CCEA will be to arrange workshops and training programmes for consumer advocacy groups, publish newsletter, fact sheets and other informative materials, handle grievances and complaints of electricity consumers through effective communication tools like electronic and hard copy questions-answers in its newsletter and online magazine, interact with the media and other agencies linked with electricity related matters in the State of UP, conduct research and development activities and make all reports Public and advise UPERC on matters relating to consumer awareness and protection.

CCEA is committed to creating an awareness amongst the a consumer besides proving to be a help to get one's grievances redressed in a shorter span of time without him/her getting harassed and losing one's precious time. It is also committed to be the most efficient, appreciated and trusted service providing entity in the consumer world by setting new milestones in terms of a complete solution to all Electricity Related Problems faced by an innocent consumer.
