RTI application can be filed in simple way to seek information to Public
Information Officer of any Ministry or Department.Application fee is Rs.
10/- only. If sent by speed post then attach Indian Postal Order of Rs. 10/-
by giving its number as RTI application fee on application. |

You would get reply within 30 days. PIO will also mention that if you are
not satisfied with the reply, you can make First Appeal to such and such
officer in the Ministry. There is no fee for the appeal and period is 30-45
days. It is the duty of First Appellate Authority to give hearing calling
both the PIO and you as applicant/appellant.. |

Third and Final stage is the Complaint u/s 18 and Appeal u/s 19 of the RTI
Act to Central Information Commission housed in Club Block of Old J.N.U
Campus, New Delhi -110067 and in August Kranti Bhawan, Bhikaji Cama Place,
New Delhi - 110060. No fee is required. |
